Have questions about the City’s permitting process or not sure where to start? The City of Dana Point is hosting a Permitting Open House designed for business owners, operators, investors, and anyone looking to better understand what goes into opening, expanding, or improving a business in Dana Point.

City staff will be available to help attendees understand the permitting process, learn which departments may be involved in their project, and get a better idea of when and why certain reviews or approvals are required.

Depending on the type of business or project, the permitting process may involve several areas, including Planning and Zoning for items such as location, parking, signage, and conditional use permits; Building for tenant improvements; Public Works/Engineering for items such as drainage; and the Health Department for restaurants and other food-related businesses.

Whether you’re exploring a new business idea, planning improvements to an existing space, or simply want to better understand the process, stop by and connect directly with staff who can help point you in the right direction.
