The Dana Point Senior Center offers a wide variety of programs and services designed to meet the educational, recreational, social and human service needs to a vital and diverse aging population. Activities vary month to month and reflect the needs and interests of the community, as well as the resources. Call the number listed above and ask to receive this month's schedule of activities. Dana Point seniors are encouraged to come and have lunch and meet new people. We have a warm and friendly atmosphere offering a variety of programs to meet your needs.

Home Delivered Meals
For homebound seniors 60yrs+ or anyone unable to shop or cook. Home delivered meals include: 1 breakfast for the next day, 1 hot lunch, and 1 cold dinner; delivered Monday through Friday. We ask a donation of $5.00 per day. Participants are required to take meals for a minimum of two (2) weeks, Monday through Friday. For meal delivery please call 496-4252.


Senior Lunch
Daily hot and cold meals served weekdays at 11:45 a.m. in the comfortable setting at the Dana Point Community/Senior Center. Meals include beverage, dessert, and good fellowship. Prices: $3 for hot meal, $2.50 for cold meal, $3 for salad. Reservations must be made two days in advance. Call 496-4252 to reserve your meal. Need a ride? Volunteers Needed
Various volunteer positions are available at the Senior Center. Positions include delivering Meals On Wheels, serving lunch in the Senior Dining Room, and clerical help. Call for more details or come by the center and fill out a volunteer application. Office hours are Mon-Fri, 8:30a-2:30p.


Commodities Distribution
Foods distributed to qualified Dana Point senior residents by the Second Harvest Food Bank. See Food Eligibility Guidelines posted at the center. Held monthly on Thursday after the third Wednesday.
Dates: 3/20, 4/17, 5/22, 6/19
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Case Management
Home assessments to determine the level of assistance needed to help maintain the seniors' independence as long as possible. Call 496-9519 for an appointment.

Hi-Cap Counseling
No cost Medicare and insurance counseling. Date: Last Thursday of the month (by appt. only, call 496-4252 between
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.


Legal Consultation for Seniors 60+

Consult with an attorney regarding Probate, Estate Planning, Wills& Trusts, and Elder law.
Date: Third Wednesday of the month (by appt. only)
Call: 496-4252 to set up an appointment.
Cost: Free


Visual Aide & Consultation
Conducted by the Braille Institute, this program is aimed at assisting those seniors with low-vision problems. Evaluation of needs and determination of a variety of devices to improve reading and other visual tasks. NOTE: Doctor's written referral required

FUN N Games Dept.

Armchair Sport Fans
Watch the NBA playoff games on 50" screen TV. Refreshments and snacks are served. Call 248-3530 for dates.
Movies
Afternoon movies and travelogues are shown once a month on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. following lunch, in the Lounge, on our huge 50" screen TV. Popcorn and beverages are served. Call 248-3530 for agenda.
Games
Checkers, cards, dominoes and various other games you can learn to play with your peers, each Thursday following lunch. Refreshments and snacks will be served. For more information call 248-3530.

Beach Cities Senior Club Trip Schedule

Beach Cities Senior Club meets at the Dana Point Senior Center on the second Tuesday of each month, 10:00-11:30 a.m. We welcome guests. For more information or to register for these trips, call 496-4109. All trips depart from and return to the Dana Point Senior Center, 34052 Del Obispo. Please park at the rear of the building. Make checks payable to: Beach Cities Senior Club. *Note: departure times are firm, return times are approximate. More activities to come. Check the bulletin board in the hallway at the Dana Point Community Center.
