New: Utility Undergrounding Procedure Manual

There has been considerable interest among Dana Point residents to underground overhead utility lines, primarily to improve both aesthetics and/or views and, of course, property values.

City staff with the direction and approval of Utility Undergrounding Subcommittee have put together the below policy and procedures guide packet to help guide you and your neighbors through this process.  Our belief is that residents are better able to decide on the relative merits of undergrounding when they have all the information available to them from the beginning.

BAG2BAG PROGRAM

The City of Dana Point, Progressive Bag Alliance, and CR&R are pleased to introduce Dana Point’s newest curbside recycling program.  Starting the week of June 20 residents (with curbside service) will receive a small container, a year’s supply of blue plastic bags and instructions on how to recycle plastic bags.  The service begins as soon as you receive your container with bags.

The Bag2Bag Program is as easy as:

  • Place used, clean, dry, and empty plastic bags (plastic grocery bags, plastic retail bags, plastic dry cleaner bags, etc.) inside the blue bag.
  • When the blue bag is full, tie the handles together and place it in the recycling container with your other recyclables for pickup by CR&R
