Homelessness has become a critical focus for many communities across the nation. The City of Dana Point understands the need to coordinate resources to provide services to improve the situation of homeless individuals and families living in our community.  Through the recent community survey, the City learned responding to the number of homeless in Dana Point is ranked among the most important services the City can provide.

Currently, Police Services, the Public Works Department and the City Manager’s office are coordinating on a daily basis to address the situation.  In addition to City staff’s efforts, the City is contracted with Mercy House to provide outreach services on a part-time basis.  You can reach the outreach worker by calling (949) 441-6269.

At the direction of the Dana Point City Council, a Homeless Task Force has been formalized, through Resolution 17-09-19-03, for the purposes of working jointly with our neighboring cities, the County of Orange, nonprofit organizations, and other engaged public agencies, to create a sustainable, measurable program to eliminate the necessity of homelessness in the Dana Point regional area.

Community Work Plan to Address Homelessness
